Automatic Pet Feeders
Feeding Your Dog
Dogs prefer meat but all dog owners know they will eat almost anything. We have a choice of what we feed our pets so be sure to use a food that contains a high quality animal protein for your pet's best health. Like our food, some dog foods contain artificial chemical additives that can cause hardening of the arteries and other health problems just as they do in us. Look at the ingredients list on pet food labels - ingredients are listed in order of highest amounts. In some food, even though meat is listed first, 75% is water and fat. To make sure that fat and water aren't high on the ingredient list, it should say dried meat. Remember, our automatic pet feeder can help ensure your dog gets the right amount of food, but can't help with what is in that food!
Pet Health
As our pets age their metabolism slows down - just as we tend to become less active which allows excess weight to build up which causes stress on joints and organs, the same happens to them. Switch to a senior, less fattening food.
Canned Food Versus Dry
Most pet breeders know that feeding wet foods leads to a buildup on teeth which can cause bacterial diseases that can enter the blood stream and kill your pets. Canned food eaters are notoriously finicky eaters. Dry food is much healthier for teeth and stomachs; more convenient to feed and store and is also less expensive. Of course feeding your pet dry food also allows you to use a Quick Feed automatic pet feeder saving you time as well.
Table food
Many of us believe that the occasional snack from our table won't harm our pet. An occasional treat generally won't hurt. However you may be creating a behavior problem as well as stomach upsets including diarrhea and vomiting, allergic reactions and obesity. Many a finicky eater have developed by feeding table scraps.
